• Pakpoom Vallisuta


    Pakpoom, who co-founded The Quant Group in 1998, spent his first 5 work years as an engineer at UNOCAL and later Hewlett-Packard.

    He began his career in financial services in 1990 as an investment analyst at Smith New Court, an affiliate of N. M. Rothschild. He later (1992) joined Nomura Research Institute Hong Kong Limited as its chief market strategist & head of research for the Thai market. Amongst other titles for the five years he spent at Nomura, Pakpoom was a senior vice president & head of investment banking at Nomura International Hong Kong Limited.

    Pakpoom holds a Computer Engineering degree and an MBA from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business. Pakpoom currently teaches Investment Banking and Financing in the MBA program at the Assumption University, Bangkok, and is a frequent guest lecturer at graduate business school at Harvard, Wharton, Duke, The University of Chicago, and MIT.

    Pakpoom is a board member of The Board of Visitors at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business, North Carolina; and, a board member of Regional Advisory Board, Duke Kunshan University in Shanghai, China. He is also a director of the PTT Institute of Science & Technology. Pakpoom is also a director at large at other corporations and amongst them a director of non-profits such as The Special Olympics and Thailand Squash & Racquet Association.

  • Takashi Harino

    Senior Advisor

    Takashi Harino is the Senior Advisor of The Quant Group overseeing cross-border M&A in Japan. He is also a member of the Executive Committee of The Quant Group’s Principal Investments.

    Prior, Takashi Harino worked 38 years in various capacities for Nomura Securities Group until his retirement mid-2009; and amongst the titles, he was President & Branch Manager of Nomura European offices, Thailand as well as the President of Nomura International Asia based in Hong Kong. During his tenure at Nomura, Takashi Harino was a director of Nomura Asset Management. Mr. Harino is a graduate of Hitotsubashi University and has a master degree in economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

  • Napalak (Sai) Waisiriroaj

    Managing Director, Head of M&A and Investment Banking.

    Sai co-founded The Quant Group with Pakpoom, and is the managing partner of the Mergers & Acquisitions, and, Investment Banking Divisions. Sai has over two decades of experience in the domain of M&A, debt workouts, reorgs/recaps, and capital markets and since 1998 with The Quant Group.Sai began her investment banking career with Nomura International Hong Kong.

    Sai has a bachelor degree in Political Science from Chulalongkorn University, an MBA from Western Michigan University and an MBA degree from the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business. Sai attended Duke University’s Advanced Management Program and Coach-K Leadership program at The Fuqua School of Business.

  • William Daniel

    Managing Director

    William Daniel has been a senior advisor for the Quant Group in Indonesia since 2006. William spent ten years teaching overseas before joining Baring Securities in 1988 as a research analyst in Thailand. He then established the Barings office in Jakarta in 1990 before moving with the bank as branch manager to Seoul and Tokyo. Subsequently, he established a securities company for Barclays in Manila and then returned to Indonesia with the bank in 1997.

    From 1998 to 2002, William was a managing director with ABN Amro Asia Securities overseeing the bank’s equities subsidiaries in Jakarta and ASEAN. After leaving full time investment banking in 2004, William established the Wall Street English franchise in Jakarta, which was sold to Pearson PLC in 2012. He currently acts as a non- executive director to two Indonesian companies. William is a holder of the Financial Times Diploma for Non-Executive Directors and the INSEAD Certification for Independent Directors.

  • Pornthep (Berm) Srisa-an

    Managing Director

    Berm has more than 15-year experiences in strategy consulting and investment banking across a broad spectrum of sectors including financial services, real estate, and industrials. His practice extends to cross-border M&A and advising private equity funds.

    Berm holds an MBA from Sloan School Of Management, MIT; and, a Master of Science degree as well as a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering degree from Carnegie Mellon University.

  • Sern Sampachanya


    At The Quant Group, Sern is primarily involved in a number of sectors including financial services and consumer products. In 2011, he assisted senior bankers in a restructuring transaction involving one of the largest global insurance companies. He was also a key member in the team which assisted one of the largest Thai conglomerate in evaluating a potential acquisition of a life insurer in Thailand. More recently, he has been working closely with one of the largest food companies in Asia to assist the company in the areas of financial advisory, valuation, research, and M&A in the food sector.

    Prior to joining The Quant Group in 2011, Sern worked as a Summer Analyst for Accenture, Siam Commercial Bank, and MFC Asset Management in Thailand.

    Sern holds a M.S. in Financial Engineering (2011), and a B.S. in Operations Research with a minor in Economics (2010), both from Columbia University.

  • Jiras Vitavaskarnwej

    Associate Director

    Jiras joined The Quant Group in 2015 and primarily focuses on Financial Institutions Group and consumer products.

    Prior to joining the company fulltime, Jiras interned at The Quant Group where he was mainly involved in the consumer products sector. He also worked as a Summer Analyst for Shanghai Commercial Bank in Hong Kong and Tisco Asset Management in Thailand.

    Jiras holds a M.S. in Operations Research from Columbia University and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Michigan with a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering.

  • Natthaphan Pornsriruthai

    Senior Associate 

    At The Quant Group, Natthaphan primarily focuses on petrochemical & refinery and oil & gas.

    Prior to joining the firm, Natthaphan had 7 years of experience at Procter and Gamble Manufacturing in Project, Capital and Construction management. He also worked for his family business in hospitality industry, establishing his family own hotel in Koh Chang

    Natthaphan holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering, Chulalongkorn University and an MBA from Ross School of Business, University of Michigan

  • Pawit Chayanupatkul

    Senior Associate

    Prior to joining The Quant Group, Pawit was an analyst at Alpha Capital in New York City, mainly focusing on capital raising activities for startups. He was also a summer analyst at The Quant Group and supply chain management analyst at Chevron Thailand.

    Pawit holds a Master of Engineering in Engineering Management (magna cum laude) and a Bachelor of Science in Operations Research and Information Engineering from Cornell University.

  • Saran Ruckpanich

    Senior Associate

    Saran joined The Quant Group in 2015 and currently focuses on consumer and retail industry.

    Prior to joining The Quant Group fulltime, Saran spent a summer with the firm as a Summer Analyst where he assisted senior bankers in the transaction in food and beverage sector. He also interned at Phatra Securities' Private Wealth Management department and KPMG's Management Consulting department.

    Saran holds both M.Eng. and B.S degrees in Operations Research and Information Engineering from Cornell University.

  • Chanon Piyasoothorn


    Chanon joined The Quant Group in 2017 as an associate and currently focused on retail and consumer sector.

    Prior to joining The Quant Group, Chanon worked as investment banker at KGI Securities (Thailand) PLC, involved in IPO deals mainly covering construction materials and heavy industry construction sector as well as financial advisory deals on stock dividend issuance and convertible debenture advisory service.

    Chanon holds an B.S. in Business Administration from Assumption University, and an MBA from Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration

  • Mac Sachaphimukh


    Mac is currently an analyst covering the consumer and retail sector where he assists senior investment bankers in financial analysis, research and business due diligence.
    Prior to joining The Quant Group, Mac was an Analyst at Carrick Capital Partners, a tech-focused growth equity fund in San Francisco, where he assisted associates in sourcing and evaluating opportunities.

    Mac holds a B.A. in Economics from University of California, Berkeley.

  • Poolperm Thongcharoenpoolporn


    Poolperm joined The Quant Group in 2016 and currently focused on the consumer retail industry.

    Prior to joining The Quant Group as an analyst, Poolperm worked as a credit analyst at the Bangkok Bank in New York where he assisted senior managers in evaluating the financing structure for M&A deals in the seafood and petrochemical industries. He was also an intern at CP ALL.

    Poolperm holds a B.S in Business Administration, Babson College with concentration in Finance.

  • Rachakan Wasonakorn


    Rachakan is an Analyst with a focus in consumer and retail sector where he assists senior investment bankers in conducting financial analysis, research and business due diligence.

    Prior to joining The Quant Group, Rachakan worked as a Case Team Assistant at The Boston Consulting Group where he assisted senior consultants in evaluating business strategies in the insurance technology sector. He was also an Operation Officer at a cryptocurrency brokerage firm.

    Rachakan holds a B.A. in Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology and a M.Eng. in Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology from University of Cambridge

  • Varittha Kuansataporn


    Varittha is currently an Analyst covering the consumer and retail sector. She assists senior investment bankers in various aspects of transactions, including research, financial analysis and business due diligence.

    Prior to joining The Quant Group, Varittha was a Summer Analyst at The Quant Group where she assisted senior investment bankers in a variety of deals, including Siam Makro’s acquisition of Indoguna Group’s businesses in Hong Kong, Singapore and Dubai. She was also a Summer Equities Researcher at AIRA Securities, where she helped senior equity researchers cover stocks in the aviation and consumers retail sectors.

    Varittha holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Economics and Finance, University of Bristol

  • Waritha Chiarnpattanodon


    Waritha recently joined The Quant Group in 2017 as an analyst covering the industrial sector, specifically oil and gas.

    Her career in financial services began when she interned at Standard Chartered Bank (Thai) Plc., where she assisted the Credit Documentation Team in drafting Banking Facility Letters for both retail and corporate clients. She then later rejoined the company in the Commercial Banking department, assisting relationship managers to build and maintain relations with corporate clients while providing them transactional banking services.

    Waritha holds a Bachelors of Science degree with a double major in Chemical Engineering and Psychology from Carnegie Mellon University

    Worada is currently an analyst covering the Industrial and Energy sector.

    Prior to joining The Quant Group full time, Worada spent a summer at the firm as a Summer Analyst, where she assists senior bankers in various aspects of the transactions including financial analysis, company research, and business due diligence.

    Worada holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry, and a Masters of Science degree in Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry, specifically Biophysical modeling analysis, from the University of Oxford.
