Pakpoom, who
co-founded The Quant
Group in 1998, spent his
first 5 work years as an
engineer at UNOCAL and
later Hewlett-Packard.
He began his career in
financial services in
1990 as an investment
analyst at Smith New
Court, an affiliate of
N. M. Rothschild.
He later (1992) joined
Nomura Research
Institute Hong Kong
Limited as its chief
market strategist & head
of research for the Thai
market. Amongst other
titles for the five
years he spent at
Nomura, Pakpoom was a
senior vice president &
head of investment
banking at Nomura
International Hong Kong
Limited.
Pakpoom holds a Computer
Engineering degree and
an MBA from Duke
University’s Fuqua
School of Business.
Pakpoom currently
teaches Investment
Banking and Financing in
the MBA program at the
Assumption University,
Bangkok, and is a
frequent guest lecturer
at graduate business
school at Harvard, Duke,
The University of
Chicago, and MIT.
Pakpoom is a board
member of The Board of
Visitors at Duke
University’s Fuqua
School of Business and a
director of Thailand’s
National Pension Fund.

Napalak
co-founded The Quant Group
with Pakpoom, and she has an
overall managerial
responsibility for the
company’s operations. She is
an authority in the domain
of debt workouts,
reorganization/recapitalization,
and leads the firm’s buyout
advisory group. Amongst
other deals at The Quant
Group, Napalak was lead
advisor in the largest
private equity (US$ 164mn
recapitalization) buyout
deal to date in Thailand,
namely NS Electronics,
advising UBS Capital in the
acquisition of the
semiconductor packaging
company in 2000. She was
lead advisor on the US$
173mn acquisition of
Indocoal (4 coal mines in
Easter Kalimantan), an IBRA
auction, advising BanpuGroup
Plc. As well, she advised on
the US$ 3.5bn merger of
National Petrochemical Corp
Plc and Thai Olefin Corp Plc
(NPC-TOC) to form PTT
Chemical Plc, the largest
merger in the Thai market to
date.
Napalak began her investment
banking career with Nomura
International Hong Kong. She
has a bachelor degree in
Political Science from
Chulalongkorn University, an
MBA from Western Michigan
University and an Executive
MBA degree from the
University of Chicago’s
Graduate School of Business.

William
is the Managing Director
of The Quant Group
Indonesia. He has spent
almost his entire career
in the Asia Pacific
financial industry.
William started his
financial career at
Barings where he held a
number of
responsibilities
including, Head of
Research Barings
Thailand, President of
Barings Indonesia,
President of Barings
South Korea and
President of Barings
Japan. Thereafter, he
was the Managing
Director at BZW
Philippines, President
of ABN AMRO Securities
Indonesia and President
of ABN AMRO Securities
South East Asia. Prior
to joining The Quant
Group, William was the
Chief Executive Officer
of Bridge Securities
(Korea).
William graduated from
Cambridge University
with B. A. (Honors) in
English and from Reading
University with M. A. in
Applied Linguistics.

Pariyanuch graduated

Pariyanuch currently has
a broad responsibility

Quant Group’s head of

She worked on PTT’s US$

Bangkok Polyethylene Plc
(BPE), US$ 3.5bn merger
of National
Petrochemical Plc and
Thai Olefins Plc –the
first ever amalgamation
of listed companies and
largest merger in
Thailand to date, as
well as the subsequent
divestitures by PTT of
PTT Polyethylene and BPE
to PTT Chemicals Plc.

Thanawan has a bachelor
degree in Civil
Engineering and a master
degree in Economic Law
from Chulalongkorn
University. As well, he
has an MBA from SASIN.
During his time at SASIN,
Thanawan participated in
the MBA exchange program
at Duke University,
Fuqua School of
Business.
Thanawan is responsible
for power & utilities,
telecom and property
sectors. The power
projects he has been
involved with include
Amata Power, Rojana
Power, Siam Power
Generation, and
Independent Power
(Thailand). His
engagements range from
advising on investment
and joint venture, to
corporate restructuring,
and to acquisition and
divestiture.
Some of his assignments
include the US$ 19.5mn
acquisition of Thai Lift
Industries Plc by Kone,
and advisory service for
Ananda Development in
relation to a joint
venture with TMW
Property Fund with
initial equity of US$
31.5mn.

Sunflag (Thailand) Ltd,
to acquisition of

financing of Trans Thai

Senior Local Officer for

acquisition of 41% of
HMC Polymers by PTT, US$
3.5bn merger of National
Petrochemical Plc and
Thai Olefins Plc, and
US$ 80mn asset
acquisition of STACO by
Mitrphol Particle Board.
She also advised EGCO on
portfolio pruning of its
water asset.
Ratchatawan is an expert
in oil & gas,
petrochemical, and water
utilities sectors.
Ratchatawan is a

Nitiphon
worked as a financial
consultant with BP
Structured Finance Team
in Chicago before
joining The Quant Group.
He was involved in
several tax-exempt
industrial revenue bond
transactions and was the
lead on the US$1B Public
Energy Authority of
Kentucky Gas Supply
Variable Rate Revenue
Bonds. Some of his
experiences also
included advising
business units on
divestments of
non-strategic pipeline
assets and acquisitions
of NGL related
businesses in North
America, advising BP
Power on valuation and
financing of 520MW
gas-fired cogeneration
plant in Washington
State, and advising an
upstream joint venture
in Argentina on capital
structure and dividend
policy. His prior
experience further
included a financial
analyst for BP Upstream
for 3 years.

Methee primarily covers
power utilities,
semiconductor, and
property industries. He
led the execution of the
US$ 86mn divestiture of
UBS Capital’s stake in
NSEB to UTAC, and US$
29mn debt raising of
Puravarna Group. He also
advised EGCO on
financial modeling of
its SPP subsidiary.
Methee graduated with

Amongst his experience,
Pattara was involved

inspection companies,

Depco by Loscam.
Pattara obtained his
